Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Worry About Anything in Life
Worry can paralyze you. It seldom helps you. It can take away years from you life and maybe even make your hair fall out.
O.K. You already know that worry isn’t good for you, that’s why you’re reading this article.
Your probably already thinking,
“Now tell me how to stop worrying.”
Alow me to give you these 3 common sense tips to help you stop worrying.
1. Realize that Worry is not the same thing as making plans or thinking about a project.
Planning isn’t wrong.
Making plans is actually important.
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it
Like 14:28 .
Making plans is different from worrying.
When we worry we are filled with anxiety over something we don’t need to dwell upon.
2. Meditate on Good Things.
Worry is the opposite of meditation.
We should meditate on good things. We should meditate on the Word of God and lovely things.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
3. If you can’t change it, don’t even contemplate it.
We usually worry about things that we cannot change.
Don’t even go there…
Why worry about it raining out a ball game if you can’t change the weather?
Why worry about getting older?
And why worry about tomorrow if tomorrow has sufficient worries of its own?
Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:33 is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. It contains a command followed by a promise.
The command is that we seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness first.
The promise is that God will give us everything we need.
If we seek God we do not have to worry.
Are you a chronic worry wart?
Some people worry all the time.
In fact there are some people who worry a lot more than others. They almost seem to live to worry.
Perhaps you worry a lot.
Here’s 7 more things to do to stop worrying:
1. Put your life in God’s hands, Put Him 1st.
2. Seek to accomplish His will for your life rather than seeking your own plans. It’s a lot easier than worrying over everything.
3. Rejoice in the Lord always.
4. Be anxious for nothing,
3. Pray about everything
4. Always give thanks
5. Let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus…
6. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
